A Christian apologist has claimed that a billboard placed by atheists contains a quote by Thomas Jefferson that never existed.
The billboard was displayed in Orange County by Backyard Skeptics and attributes the following quote to Jefferson. “I do not find in Christianity one redeeming feature. It is founded on fables and mythology”
There is only one problem, experts at the Jefferson Library say there is no evidence the man who authored the Declaration of Independence ever made that statement.
“[This] atheist says, “Well, Thomas Jefferson said this.’ Well, Thomas Jefferson also said, ‘All our rights come from a Creator,’” notes Neil Mammen, a Christian author and apologist and founder of NoBlindFaith.com.”
Bruce Gleason, the director for Backyard Skeptics admitted he did not know where the quote came from.

It's also worth noting that his phrase, 'separation of church and state' is always taken out of context, to prove an incorrect point.
